What do you have to say about iMEE's recent performances of VERSED presented August 26th- 28th as part of Hope Stone's three week dance festival, Lemonade Stand at Barnevelder Movement / Arts Complex in Houston, Texas?

iMEE would like to thank ALL who came out to show their support of a new company, in a new city and for making our debut performances (with two sold out evening's) in Houston, Texas an absolute success!

I'm just now seeing this blog but want to add a much belated comment on the show. Which was wonderful! The overarching progression of the dances felt literary. Odd way to phrase it, I realize. But each dance was like a chapter in an unfolding novel. Each beautiful and significant on its own but contributing mightily to the over all work. I especially like the pas de deux set to the romantic poem. Lovely. I look forward to more iMEE performances.

Just seeing this blog inquiry now. I had posted my original comment regarding VERSED on August 27, 2010 on iMEE's Facebook Page.

Saw iMEE's opening performance of Versed - it was superb! The program consisted of works created by various choreographers, dance styles, poetry, music, all seamlessly woven together. The dancers were tremendously strong, delivering a seemingly effortless performance with complex, challenging movement. The amazingly talented musician/theater artist provided music, dialogue and poetry bringing insight and meaning to the pieces. The drama of the lighting combined with the passion of the artists took the performance to an exciting new level.
